September 2006 FAQ:
Question:
We have been involved in a stream of organizational changes over the last few years - but we still find each change very difficult. What is going on?
Answer:
Many organizations
are making no progress on change for a
variety of reasons:
-
Organizational changes are difficult
-
Each
change may be more complex
-
Our
workers are already too busy … and
feel they can’t take the time to do a
thorough job on change … in short,
they are winging it!
-
Most
organizations do not yet have a formal
change methodology that works
-
Most
organizations have not yet recognized
“leading change” as a fundamentally
different competence from running the
business
-
Most
organization have yet to train
their employees to lead change
Suffice it to
say, we have a long way to go to master change!!
