Typical and Unsuccessful attempt to move toward the Process Enterprise
(do any of these "slightly tongue-in-cheek" phases look familiar?)

Early Phase

  • Intrigue with subject of "process enterprise"
  • Immersion in the details
  • Attack of the IT Process Mapping Vendors who say they have the answer!
  • Loss of view of the forest because of complexity
  • The urgent need to do something…anything!

Middle Phase

  • Broad-side approach with the latest Process Management Technology
  • "We're going to tackle all our processes right now!"
  • Process Management overload followed by saturation
  • The beginning of organizational pushback

Last Phase

  • Many Process Management "projects" started all at once…if it moves, "Process it!"
  • Process Management IT systems that are implemented but not used
  • Confusion about what we were trying to do anyway

The Bottom Line...the chances of a successful transition to a Process Enterprise can be greatly enhanced by taking a Planned Journey (click here to go back)
