Stop number Two: Products and Services in Change Management

1. Planning and Organizing Change Projects/Programs

HDI can assist your organization in the definition, development, and action planning of the change initiatives (projects and programs) that are needed to implement your firm's strategy, processes, tools/systems, and behavioral/cultural enhancements. HDI can assist your firm in forming and chartering the "organizational structures" of change ... change Project Teams, Steering Committees, Program Offices, etc. Our support includes team selection, role clarification, team training around their areas of responsibility and accountability, and implementation of management systems for the change.

2. Support of Change Projects, Programs and Teams

  • Project/Program Management
  • Assistance to Project/Program Management
  • Scheduling
  • Coaching and Teambuilding
  • Risk Management

HDI assists change Program Offices and Project Teams as they pursue the firm's authorized Change initiatives. Our support includes supplying a Project and/or Program manager, acting as a "shadow" manager for client Project/Program managers, and providing any other kind of support the project team needs including documentation, critical-path scheduling/tracking and "been there, done that" hand holding. We think of ourselves as "tour guides" who have been through dozens of change projects, working with clients who may be making one of their first trips! We know the "must see and must do" stops along the way to successful change implementation.

3. Risk Assessment of Change Projects/Programs
HDI offers Risk Assessment and Diagnosis Services on change initiatives already underway in the client organization. We use our change templates to identify and assess the three different kinds of risk associated with Change:

  • Technical Risk -- the very real risk that the changed strategy, process, or tool will not perform from a technical point of view
  • Organizational Risk - the very real risk that the changed strategy, process, tool, or behavior will not be used by the organization
  • Business Risk -- the very real risk that the changed strategy, process, tool, or behavior will not make money for the company!

We use our Change Management templates and tools to (1) reinforce the change steps already made and to (2) locate and recommend steps for the actions that are left to be done for change success. We provide "next steps" guidance in enough detail for the client organization to proceed on their own or with the services of outside vendors (we will even help the client write the "Request for Proposal" for services that we will not bid!)

4. Change Management Process Guides with Use-Ware
